Molalla River Chapter

Hello and Welcome!
The Molalla River chapter began forming in May 2007. You can be one of the founding members! Our Open House event was held September 6, 2007 at the Canby Community Park and had a fantastic turnout with lots of new members signed up. Our Grand Opening will be in early 2008 at our regular meeting location (see below) and we welcome you to join us and our distinguished guests. For more information please contact us or stop by and visit us at our regular monthly chapter meetings.

Guests are always welcome to our monthly meetings held the second Thursday of each month (starting in December 2007), 7 pm at W.W. Grigg, LLC, 2000 SE 4th Ave. Canby, OR 97013 (downloadable map) (map) . Meetings usually feature a guest speaker, update on projects and fishing derby's and conclude with door prize drawings. For more information please drop us a note.

Here's Just a Few Reasons You Might Like to be a Member

Whiskey Creek Volunteer Hatchery Fin Clipping partyNW Steelheader's participate in the annual fin clipping of chinook at the Tillamook Anglers Whiskey Creek Volunteer Hatchery

The Association has a rich history with almost 50 years of service to the community. We're dedicated to accomplishing our mission and especially interested in providing our many members and volunteers with projects that will result in better fishing and fisheries.

We're very proud to be heavily involved in ODF&W's S.T.E.P. Members meet regularly to participate in volunteer projects refurbishing boat launches and slides, fin clipping steelhead and salmon, river clean ups and a wide variety of other projects including our signature event, Kids Fishing Day held throughout the state.

And most of us like to fish too!

Marve Welt with a couple young men at Kids Fishing DayHere, NW Steelheaders member Marvin Welt, an ODFW certified Aquatic and Angler Education Program Instructor, teaches a couple of very interested young men the basics of a closed face spinning reel. Kids!
The Association is dedicated to kids. We provide volunteers for Free Fishing Weekend and other events as requested by community partners. Each year both children and our many members walk away with fond memories of a great time. And those memories that last a lifetime. Through our programs thousand children of children and adults are introduced to fishing and conservation annually.

If you're not yet a member we'd love to have you. Won't you come on down and meet us. We've got a door prize with your name on it! And, if you're ready, you can join by submitting a membership application.
