Outreach to Future Anglers

An important goal of the Association is to educate future anglers. Several chapters participate in the classroom incubation tank program. In some cases, they extend the educational opportunity by helping students learn about the habitat and release the fish.

Almost all chapters help ODFW with Free Kids’ Fishing Day in June; one of the goals is to actually teach the children some basic skills (casting, baiting hooks) before they take their turn at the pond. Some chapters sponsor Youth Fairs where they teach basic angling education.

ODFW offers formal angler education training. Graduates teach angler education classes.
