Formed in 1980 and named in honor of Oregon's late governor who was a conservationist and fishing enthusiast.

The current Chapter President is Andy Anderson (phone: 503-274-2777).  Past chapter presidents include Scott Kappes, Gary Whelan, Tom shipley, Gary Benson, Dennis VavRosky, Marti Quinn, Jim Atwood, Dr. Denis Avery, Donn DeBernardi, Joe Williams and Dick McLaughlin.

The chapter's main focus is on education of its members and support for the statewide Association.  More McCall members have served on the Association's Board of Directors and are members of the Association's Hall of Fame than any other chapter.  The chapter also participates in native broodstock capture programs, the Oregon Adopt-A-River program (cleaning the lower Sandy River) and various fish-related projects.
